Make Wine & Make Beer , How to Make Wine & beer with Charles at Fermentations!

The best awards that we have are the ones selected by the general public. We have been very fortunate to have been selected multiple times as Toronto’s Best Place to Make Your Own Wine & Beer by the readers of NOW Magazine, EYE Weekly, and the Beaches-Riverdale Mirror, going back as far as 1995. In fact, we have won so often that NOW Magazine has given us the prestigious Hall Of Fame Award! Both NOW and Eye (then The Grid – now defunct) have since retired the category since we kept winning it so much!

Rather than listing awards going back to 1993 when we first opened our doors, we will list the awards from the last several years:

In 2016, at a Wine Judes of Canada event, we were awarded bronze medals for our Niagara Sauvignon Blanc and Spanish Tempranillo,  silver medals for our Niagara Vidal,  a Niagara Chardonnay blended with Spanish Grenache Blanc, Spanish Grenache Noir, Carignan, Cabernet Sauvignon, our Rhone blend, and a gold medal for our Late Harvest Apple Wine.

At the 2016 Winemaker Magazine Awards, a competition with over 2900 entrie, of 3 wines we entered, we were awarded 3 medals!  Quit the feat considering we were going up against wines made by professional winemakers with access to the entire world of grapes, 

In 2015, We were awarded silver medals  at the provincial level for our Bordeaux and Rhone blends, as well as our Spanish white blend of Grenache Blanc, Muscat and Macabeo. At the  2015 Winemaker Magazine competition with over 3000 entries, we were awarded 2 gold and one bronze medal for wines made with our Spanish grapes, and a wine made with our grapes was voted Best Of Show at the Canadian Championships!
